MUNICIPAL COURTMunicipal Court handles cases ranging from minor traffic violations to Class 1 misdemeanors that carry a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine. The Court is a separate branch of city government and a part of the statewide court system, subject to the authority of the Arizona Supreme Court. Parking tickets, criminal citations, zoning complaints and other cases fall under Municipal Court’s jurisdiction.
